The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.
Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. In the absence of a manager, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional preferred qualifications are retail experience, deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, and advanced communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime is also required.
