Job summary

Blue Bottle Coffee Inc is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead hospitality and uphold cafe standards, driving sales and ensuring excellent beverage and food quality. The role involves supervising without direct reports, mentoring team members, and executing operational tasks across inventory, onboarding, and guest service.

You will uphold safety, cleanliness, and efficiency while training new staff and supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience or experience in team leadership.
• Barista training and validation through Blue Bottle Academy or completion within 90 days post-hire.
• Food Safety Certification required for the state and role, or obtained within 30 days post-hire.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Flexible schedule; mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays available.

Responsibilities

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of cafe expenditures and contribute to sales growth.
• Support operations and continuous improvement within the cafe and focus area.
• Oversee service flow for safety, cleanliness, quality and efficiency.
• Perform inventory tasks including ordering, receiving and stock management.
• Lead onboarding and training of new team members; ensure smooth integration.
• Address guest concerns promptly and report incidents per protocol.
• Provide guidance on new menu offerings and operational procedures.
• Lead sustainability initiatives and inspire the team to achieve company targets.
• Maintain high quality in beverages and foods and supervise high-performing staff.
