Job summary

Corning in Wilmington, NC is seeking a production supervisor to lead manufacturing operations, ensure safety, quality, and cost objectives, and coordinate scheduling and equipment troubleshooting across shifts.

You will supervise operators and technicians, drive continuous improvement, manage timecards, overtime, and communicate with all levels of the plant, while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school education and 5+ years relevant work experience.
• 4-year degree preferred in engineering (chemical, materials, or mechanical).
• Effective communicator with peers, subordinates, and leadership.
• Capacity to learn complex manufacturing processes and systems.
• Strong data analysis skills and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and leads production operations teams 24/7.
• Serves as a champion for safety culture.
• Coordinates prioritization of product manufacturing and equipment troubleshooting needs.
• Holds team accountable to established metrics.
• Manages schedules, timecards, overtime, and personnel concerns, communicating across plant levels.
• Acts as incident commander for plant spill alarms.
• Plays a key role in plant leadership structure.
