GEO Reentry Services LLC in Rapid City, SD seeks an experienced security supervisor for a residential re-entry center. You will coordinate administrative and security operations on a shift, leading staff and ensuring coverage while upholding policy and safety standards.

The role requires post orders compliance, reporting, training, and effective communication with residents and staff. A proactive approach to emergencies and strong English writing skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year as a Monitor I or 2 years related supervisory experience.
• Must hold a current and active driver's license.
• Familiar with community correctional operations, corrections laws, rules and regulations and the principle and practices of supervision training.
• Ability to write legible reports in English in own handwriting, using correct grammar.
• Ability to plan motivate, control, schedule, train and react quickly and appropriately to emergencies situations, effectively communicate with residents and staff.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.
• Ability to work with computers and the applicable software typically used by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate administrative and operational security on a specific shift.
• Lead staff during assigned shift to maintain adequate security coverage.
• Read, understand and comply with post orders for the assigned post.
• Directs monitors and residents, trains new employees, develops schedules, and handles leave requests.
• Report suspected unauthorized activity or absence to the Security Manager or Facility Director.
• Maintain daily logs, resident in/out, visitors in/out, and facility checks.
• Provide for adequate staffing and fill in during short periods.
• Participate in evaluating security staff and ensuring training requirements are met.
• Monitor safety practices and prepare incident reports as required by policy.
• Conduct shift meetings, communicate effectively with staff, inmates, visitors, and the public.
• Prepare staff logs and disciplinary reports and timely processing of reports.
• Review reports and records and ensure proper processing of documents.
• Inspect housing and usage areas to maintain standards and security.
• Perform surveillance and respond to emergencies with calm and decisive action.
• Complete in-service training and comply with policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
