GEO Reentry Services, LLC. is seeking a Security Monitor/Shift Supervisor to coordinate administrative and security activities at a residential re-entry center in Kansas. You will lead staff on your shift to ensure proper security coverage and compliance with post orders.

The role requires strong supervision skills, the ability to respond quickly in emergencies, and experience in correctional environments. Competitive benefits and full-time employment are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year as a Monitor I or two years related experience; leadership preferred.
• Must hold a current and active driver's license.
• Familiar with community correctional operations, corrections laws, rules and regulations and supervision practices.
• Ability to write legible reports in English in own handwriting, using correct grammar.
• Ability to plan, motivate, control, schedule, train and react quickly and appropriately to emergencies, situations, and emergencies.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.
• Ability to work with computers and the applicable software typically used by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands and complies with post orders for the assigned post.
• Ensure resident formal counts are conducted.
• Directs Monitor staff and residents on the shift; trains new employees and resolves issues.
• Reports any suspected unauthorized activity or absence to the Security Manager or Facility Director.
• Maintains daily logs, resident in/out, and facility checks.
• Provides for adequate staffing and fills in during short-staffing.
• Participates in evaluating security staff.
• Monitors safety practices and prepares safety and accident reports.
• Conducts shift meetings and communicates with staff, residents, visitors, and the public.
• Prepares staff logs and disciplinary reports and other administrative documents.
