Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a shift-level plant operations leader to direct and coordinate all production activities. You will supervise a team of 5–15 salaried staff and coordinate with 200+ hourly employees while ensuring adherence to food safety programs and USDA-like standards.

You will drive production scheduling, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement projects to meet efficiency and budget targets in a high-demand poultry processing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of manufacturing experience or an Associates with 6+ years in a similar environment.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership and/or supervisory experience of 200+ persons.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, with 8+ years in food manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned shift’s production operations.
• Develop good working relationships and high morale while handling administrative duties related to production.
• Lead production objectives and ensure they are met.
• Foster effective communication to meet project timelines and tasks.
• Develop and train employees; conduct monthly safety meetings and discussions.
• Handle employee grievances and oversee performance.
• Ensure safety and compliance with food safety programs including HACCP, SSOPs and GMPs.
• Review reporting requirements and ensure timely completion.
• Plan process improvements and optimize production schedules and budgets.
