Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is hiring a Shift Manager Operations for the Toledo, OH HBI location. The role leads plant operators and control room staff on shift, prioritizes work orders, and ensures safe, efficient operation of the facility.

The candidate will collaborate with supervisors to optimize production and document performance metrics for handover. Qualified candidates typically hold an associate degree and 3–5 years in a heavy industrial setting, with CMMS and P&ID knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in heavy industrial environment, preferably steel, hydrocarbon or mining.
• Experience overseeing, leading, and coaching people.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Understanding of piping and instrumentation diagrams and single line diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work practices and lead work safely.
• Plan and prioritize weekly work orders on a daily basis.
• Direct and review work of operators and control room staff.
• Prepare shift plan using information from supervisors and crew.
• Monitor quality of completed work and inspect shift performance.
• Coordinate start/stop times for payroll accuracy and recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with supervisors to minimize shift variation and share best practices.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and uphold safety standards.
