Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to lead a fast-paced team, ensure exceptional guest service, and uphold food quality and cleanliness. You’ll manage scheduling, coach staff, and maintain inventory while collaborating with leadership to drive operational excellence.

The role covers a range of duties from training teammates to handling shift paperwork, with full-time or part-time opportunities depending on location.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience during each shift.
• Ensure food is prepared and served to brand standards.
• Keep the restaurant functional, clean and visually appealing.
• Control inventory to minimize waste and optimize costs.
• Schedule and supervise staff to meet daily needs.
• Be a team player and collaborate with crew.
• Cascade training to Sandwich Artists on new responsibilities.
• Complete paperwork and assist with shift administration.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
