Job summary

BD is seeking a production supervisor in the USA CT - Canaan area to lead high-volume automated manufacturing lines, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and coordinate with Quality and Maintenance. The role emphasizes servant leadership, strong communication, and proactive problem solving.

You will manage attendance and staffing, run Tier 1 meetings, and ensure adherence to policies while supporting continuous improvement across the Line Centric Organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• BA/BS – Science, Industrial management, Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Promptly address any safety issues or incidents.
• Manage and track attendance, vacation, PTO, etc.
• Staffing and training plans within lines for assigned shift.
• Daily touchpoints with line associates to support Run to Excellence program (Safety, Quality, TPM, top losses).
• Provide regular feedback to associates (1:1s).
• Ensure open communication between production associates and management.
• Support timely resolution of issues on the line with servant leadership.
• Anticipate and address problems before they impact production.
• Prepare and run Tier 1 production meetings and align with LCO team.
• Ensure consistent application of policies; involve HR when needed.
• Ensure Pit Stops and CILTs execution; update Tier 1 boards.
• Lead root cause investigations and containment as needed.
• Spend 100% on the production floor except meetings.
• Communicate results and escape issues to Line Leader.
• Responsible for material management, work orders, reconciliation, cycle counts.
• Conduct daily batch reviews (DHRs).
• Ensure quality checks and work order documentation; resolve QDNs.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance and others; build cross-functional team.
• Coordinate headcount and sampling on lines; support other lines as needed.
• Lead requalification efforts for assigned lines.
• Support quality inspections during shifts for assigned lines.
