Job summary

Potbelly Corporate is seeking an Assistant Manager in Sandy Springs, GA. This co-leader role focuses on creating a welcoming, high-energy shop environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork and guest experience.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of management in food service or retail, food safety certification, and a customer-first mindset. You’ll lead shifts, train staff, and help grow sales while ensuring safety and quality standards across operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of at least 2 years management experience in either a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
• You must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach and develop Potbelly Associates and Shift Leaders.
• Effectively interview and recommend hires of Associates and Shift Leaders.
• Develop and maintain a Good Vibes culture for attraction & retention.
• Effectively schedule Associates and Shift Leaders.
• Update communication board with critical shop information.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings.
• Ensure all security procedures are followed.
• Ensure back-of-the-house procedural standards are met.
• Count drawers and follow daily cash handling procedures.
• Drive neighborhood shop marketing and promotions to maximize sales potential.
• Assist General Manager with control of costs, variances and inventories.
• Manage assigned P&L line items.
• Maintain deadlines and prioritize while running an effective shift.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food and cleanliness.
• Handle customer complaints/issues.
• Other duties as assigned
