Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to keep the restaurant firing on all cylinders. You’ll lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness while coaching teammates to improve skills and confidence.

You’ll partner with the Restaurant Manager team to sharpen leadership, grow shift capabilities, and strengthen the operational foundation of the location. This role offers comprehensive benefits, flexible schedules, and opportunities for career growth toward leadership positions.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Flexible availability, including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours.
• Stand up to 10 hours and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
• ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate team members to improve skills and confidence.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
