Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive daily restaurant performance, lead the team, and uphold quality and safety standards. You will coach staff, manage shifts, and support cost and sales goals while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Based in your home location, you will collaborate with the Restaurant Manager team, participate in training opportunities, and contribute to a positive work culture that grows leadership capability.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours.
• Stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Possess ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members to ketchup quickly and turn up the heat.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
