Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive daily restaurant operations from the front line. You will lead shift management, coach team members, and ensure top quality, service, and cleanliness while controlling costs and promoting a safe, welcoming environment.

You’ll partner with the Restaurant Manager to sharpen leadership skills, grow shift-management capability, and strengthen the operational foundation across the team, with opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays and variable hours.
• Stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service and communication.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain during training.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members; help new hires ketchup quickly.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, and sales performance.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare and transition shift operations to keep restaurant running smoothly.
