Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive operational excellence and support daily restaurant operations. You will lead shifts, coach Team Members, and ensure high standards of service, safety, and quality on a fast-paced line.

This role emphasizes leadership development and owning outcomes in a team-driven environment. Based at your home restaurant, you will collaborate with the Restaurant Manager, mentor new hires, and help manage costs and performance while advancing your leadership

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours.
• Ability to stand up to 10 hours and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service and communication.
• Possess ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness.
• Coach, train, and motivate Team Members to improve skills.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, and sales performance.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and positive culture.
• Prepare and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
