Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Lombard, IL is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to manage a fast-paced shift, develop associates, and ensure outstanding product quality and service. Applicants must be 18+, have at least 1 year of supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail setting, pass state Food Safety requirements, and demonstrate strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment.
• You meet all Food Safety requirements and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• You are friendly, customer-first and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, assign tasks, and provide feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed and back-of-house standards met.
• Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures.
• Prepare finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, etc.).
• Adhere to health and safety standards and restock as needed.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, and kitchen areas; manage waste.
• Operate cash register and resolve customer issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
