Job summary

Rōti in Northbrook, IL is seeking a part-time Shift Leader to drive a smooth shift and uphold our high standards of hospitality. You will act as a key leader in the absence of the General Manager, motivating the team, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring exceptional service.

You'll lead by example, coach teammates, handle guest concerns with care, and ensure food safety and inventory controls are upheld during each shift.

Qualifications

• Certification in food safety and allergens is required or obtained on hire.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Open availability including opening and closing shifts; cash handling helpful.
• Knowledge of menu, recipes, and ingredients; able to train others.
• Previous restaurant leadership is preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; decisive action.
• Confident, assertive leadership to guide the team.
• Passionate about hospitality and guest experience.
• Positive attitude and work ethic aligned with brand values.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with team motivation.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Inspire: set standards, motivate, and foster a high-energy work environment.
• Be a Hands-On Leader: stay on the floor, support the team, ensure smooth shifts.
• Train & Develop: coach new and existing staff, encourage growth.
• Deliver an Unforgettable Guest Experience: welcome guests and handle concerns.
• Drive Operational Excellence: open/close the restaurant at least twice weekly and supervise operations.
• Ensure Food Safety & Compliance: uphold food safety, sanitation, and health rules.
• Be a Rōti Ambassador: embody brand values in and outside the restaurant.
