Job summary

Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe in Birmingham, AL is hiring for a flexible restaurant role with opening and closing shifts. You will engage guests, handle Take-Out and dine-in interactions, and support prep and service across stations.

You’ll learn recipes, product knowledge, and maintain safety and cleanliness standards. Role involves team-led service, shift transitions, and daily prep planning to ensure smooth operation for lunch and dinner periods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Leadership, guest service, and verbal communication skills with guests/team members.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Must have or obtain a Food Manager’s certification shortly after beginning employment.
• Work flexible schedule.
• Dependable, reliable, and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Serving guests, making meaningful connections with them.
• Opening & closing tasks.
• Being responsible for the restaurant when a manager isn't on duty.
• Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear directions to your team.
• Mastering menu and product knowledge.
• Supporting or working stations when needed (kitchen included).
• Prepping food and doing side work.
• Following proper cash handling and payment procedures.
• Maintaining Health Department Standards throughout each shift.
• Following proper Alcohol Handling policies and procedures.
• Proper food handling and storage of food products.
• Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance.
