Job summary

Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe is hiring for a restaurant team member to support opening and closing shifts, prep work, and guest service at our Birmingham location. You will assist the prep crew, manage Take-Out orders, and help with catering tasks while ensuring food safety and recipe accuracy.

During PM shifts you’ll handle online orders, serve guests, and prepare for the next day’s team. This role offers growth, a supportive team, and a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Leadership, guest service, and verbal communication skills with guests/team members.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to the policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serving guests, making meaningful connections with them.
• Opening & closing tasks.
• Being responsible for the restaurant when a manager isn't on duty.
• Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear, calm directions to your team about their duties.
• Mastering menu and product knowledge.
• Supporting or working stations when needed (kitchen included).
• Prepping food and doing side work.
• Following proper cash handling and payment procedures.
• Maintaining Health Department Standards throughout each shift.
• Following proper Alcohol Handling policies and procedures.
• Proper food handling and storage of food products.
• Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance.
