Job summary

El Pollo Loco, Inc. in West Covina, CA is seeking a Shift Leader to guide a restaurant team during assigned shifts, ensuring fast, friendly service and day-to-day operations.

You'll oversee opening/closing, safety, inventory, and customer satisfaction while coaching staff, handling cash, and supporting management with smooth, consistent performance across shifts. This role emphasizes leadership development and adherence to EPL standards to deliver fire-grilled experiences that keep guests coming

Qualifications

• Supervise shift operations and lead crew to meet goals.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; supervisory experience required or EPL SPECS certification.
• Must be certified on EPL SPECS or have 1+ year supervisory experience and pass EPL FSA after hire.
• Strong focus on safety, service, cleanliness (QSC) and standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage opening and closing procedures and inventory.
• Ensure service speed, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Coordinate tasks and adjust staffing based on sales.
• Train team on new products and procedures.
• Handle cash, deposits, and shift reporting.
• Greet customers and assist with orders; support operations.
