Potbelly is hiring a Part-Time Shift Leader to oversee shifts, develop associates, and ensure top-notch product quality and service while managing costs. The role emphasizes a friendly, fast-paced work environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
• Must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset for a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoy problem-solving.
• Able to stand/walk 8–9 hours; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead team on shifts, assign tasks, and provide feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed.
• Maintain back-of-house procedural standards.
• Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other items efficiently.
• Follow health and safety standards for food and cleanliness.
• Restock food line, chips and coolers.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, and utensils.
• Operate cash register and balance cash
• Handle customer complaints effectively
• Other duties as assigned.
