Job summary

MFA Petroleum Company is looking for a Break Time Shift Leader to help supervise daily store operations, manage shifts, and drive sales in a busy convenience store environment.

You will support banking, inventory, merchandising, and food program initiatives while ensuring excellent customer service, safety, and adherence to company policies. This is a growth-oriented role within MFA Oil’s Break Time network.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Friendly, customer service-oriented person who enjoys a fast-paced work environment.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with adequate transportation to/from bank.
• Flexible availability which may include all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Works well individually and in leading a team.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of products during vendor check in.
• Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• Ability to perform assigned duties with accuracy and with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler with temperatures as low as 30 degrees for up to one hour, and to move and position products in the freezer with temperatures as low as 0 degrees.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior management/leadership experience.
• Experience in retail sales.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and ensuring friendly service during peak hours.
• Assist in all aspects of store operation including daily reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, fuel management, and maintenance.
• Support merchandising, promotions, pricing, stocking, and fronting of merchandise including cooler items.
• Supervise shifts in the absence of the manager and train new employees on policies and procedures.
• Maintain timely and professional communication with customers, vendors, other employees, and management.
• Assist in meeting sales goals and controlling expenses through cash handling and audits.
• Follow safety and food service guidelines and adhere to company policies.
• Operate point of sale systems and other store technology to complete transactions.
