Job summary

Choolaah Indian BBQ is seeking a Shift Leader in Pittsburgh to oversee daily restaurant operations in the absence of the GM and ASM. You will supervise team members, ensure consistent product quality, and maintain high guest satisfaction while upholding company standards.

The role requires 1-2 years of supervisory food-service experience, strong English communication, and physical ability to stand up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs. We offer opportunities for growth and internal promotions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience in food service preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while standing up to 8 hours and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Achieve mastery in Guest Ambassador, BBQ, Bread, Line, and prep.
• Maintain fast & accurate service and guest experience to standards.
• Lead Team Members and direct daily ops including training and shift changes.
• Ensure cleanliness, neatness, and guest satisfaction at all times.
• Use the cash register accurately and manage assets; make deposits.
• Support teammates and motivate/train new Team Members.

Shift Leaders are trained to perform all the duties performed by the Team Members, with additional responsibility for directing the daily operations of a restaurant in the Restaurant General Manager's and Assistant Manager's absence, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance, team management and other duties as required or assigned.

Responsibilities Of Shift Leader Include (and Not Limited To)

• Achieving Mastery in all areas including- Guest Ambassador, BBQ, Bread, Line, and prep.
• Maintains fast & accurate service, ensures excellent guest experience, and makes sure all products are consistent with Choolaah’s standards.
• Leads Team Members and directs daily operations of the restaurant including supervising and training employees, opening, and closing the store, ensuring all food preparation is complete, managing employee breaks and shift changes, and completing minor admin duties.
• Makes sure the restaurant is up to Choolaah’s standards with regards to cleanliness, neatness, and guest satisfaction.
• Uses the company cash register accurately and maintains proper control of company assets. Makes accurate deposits.
• Works as a team player to support other employees in completing their tasks.
• Motivates and coaches Team Members and assists in the training of new Team Members.
• Offers friendly and expeditious guest service.
• Completes all other duties assigned as necessary.
