Description
Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.
Primary Responsibilities
The following duties are representative but not exhaustive or exclusive:
- Adhere to restaurant performance standards, regulate workflow, reassign crew, and support labor goals.
- Resolve guest concerns, determine if customer credit is necessary, and document decisions.
- Meet guest needs by ensuring timely food prep, accurate delivery, prompt table service, and guest courtesy.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including proper glove use, cleanliness, and food storage.
- Verify crew uniform compliance and proper attire to prevent accidents.
- Perform shift tasks such as cash handling, deposits, and end-of-shift activities, documenting anomalies as needed.
- Ensure safety and security of crew, guests, products, and cash, including securing premises after hours.
- Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and reporting.
- Assist in training and developing crew members.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest relations skills.
- Proven leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of operational procedures and safety regulations.
- Comfort with workplace technology and POS systems.
- Basic math skills and ability to manage and correct crew performance.
Experience/Education & Certifications
- Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test before managing a shift.
- Possibly require Food Handler’s permit, Sanitation Certification, or other licenses per local laws.
- Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance and a clean driving record.
Physical Demands
- Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds, perform standing, walking, and other physical tasks for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and kitchen equipment.
Tools and Equipment
- Includes cash registers, ovens, calculators, and other kitchen and office tools.
