Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties are representative but not exhaustive or exclusive:

1. Adhere to restaurant performance standards, regulate workflow, reassign crew, and support labor goals.
2. Resolve guest concerns, determine if customer credit is necessary, and document decisions.
3. Meet guest needs by ensuring timely food prep, accurate delivery, prompt table service, and guest courtesy.
4. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including proper glove use, cleanliness, and food storage.
5. Verify crew uniform compliance and proper attire to prevent accidents.
6. Perform shift tasks such as cash handling, deposits, and end-of-shift activities, documenting anomalies as needed.
7. Ensure safety and security of crew, guests, products, and cash, including securing premises after hours.
8. Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and reporting.
9. Assist in training and developing crew members.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest relations skills.
• Proven leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of operational procedures and safety regulations.
• Comfort with workplace technology and POS systems.
• Basic math skills and ability to manage and correct crew performance.

Experience/Education & Certifications

• Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test before managing a shift.
• Possibly require Food Handler’s permit, Sanitation Certification, or other licenses per local laws.
• Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance and a clean driving record.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds, perform standing, walking, and other physical tasks for extended periods.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and kitchen equipment.

Tools and Equipment

• Includes cash registers, ovens, calculators, and other kitchen and office tools.
