Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties are representative but not exhaustive:

1. Adhere to restaurant performance standards, ensure crew members are actively working, regulate workflow, reassign crew as needed, and support labor goals.
2. Resolve guest concerns, determine if customer credit is necessary, and document decisions appropriately.
3. Meet guest needs by ensuring timely service, accurate delivery times, proper order verification, and courteous guest interactions.
4. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including glove use, cleanliness, proper food storage, and sanitation of surfaces.
5. Verify crew uniform compliance and proper hair restraints, ensure non-slip footwear is worn.
6. Perform shift-related tasks such as cash handling, deposits, end-of-shift activities, and documenting unusual events.
7. Ensure safety and security of crew, guests, products, and cash, including securing premises and controlling access after hours.
8. Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory assistance, and other duties as assigned.
9. Assist in training and developing crew members.

Experience/Education & Certification

• Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test to run a shift as manager on duty.
• May require Food Handler’s permit, Sanitation Certification, or other permits/licenses per local laws.
• Preferably, possess a valid driver’s license with insurance and a clean driving record.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds occasionally, and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and stamina for extended shifts.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and water; routine operation of kitchen equipment.
