Description
Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.
Primary Responsibilities
The following duties are representative but not exhaustive:
- Adhere to restaurant performance standards, ensure crew members are actively working, regulate workflow, reassign crew as needed, and support labor goals.
- Resolve guest concerns, determine if customer credit is necessary, and document decisions appropriately.
- Meet guest needs by ensuring timely service, accurate delivery times, proper order verification, and courteous guest interactions.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including glove use, cleanliness, proper food storage, and sanitation of surfaces.
- Verify crew uniform compliance and proper hair restraints, ensure non-slip footwear is worn.
- Perform shift-related tasks such as cash handling, deposits, end-of-shift activities, and documenting unusual events.
- Ensure safety and security of crew, guests, products, and cash, including securing premises and controlling access after hours.
- Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory assistance, and other duties as assigned.
- Assist in training and developing crew members.

- Ability to manage and correct crew performance.
Experience/Education & Certification
- Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test to run a shift as manager on duty.
- May require Food Handler’s permit, Sanitation Certification, or other permits/licenses per local laws.
- Preferably, possess a valid driver’s license with insurance and a clean driving record.
Physical Demands
- Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds occasionally, and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and stamina for extended shifts.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and water; routine operation of kitchen equipment.
