Job summary

Velvet Taco in Naperville, IL, is hiring for an hourly team role. You will interact with guests, perform opening/closing duties, and support the team in delivering a top-notch dining experience.

Responsibilities include cash handling, POS management, inventory support, and enforcing food-safety standards while maintaining a clean, organized workspace. You will be part of a fast-paced team that values accountability, bold service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Manages hourly team members and interacts with guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Handles guest concerns and guides toward positive resolutions.
• Performs cash-handling, sets up POS drawers, processes comps and voids, and manages deposits during shifts.
• Positively leads team members, motivates adherence to procedures, and ensures a great guest experience.
• De-escalates conflicts between team members and ensures everyone feels heard.
• Assists Management with inventory processes.
• Maintains high food-safety standards with line checks, shelf storage, freshness checks, and cleanliness.
• Manages daily prep list and signs off on prepped items to meet specifications.
• Enforces safe work environment by using cut gloves, keeping floors clean, and removing hazards.
• Delivers friendly, welcoming guest experiences and communicates feedback openly.
• Eager to learn, takes accountability for actions, and works well in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficient across culinary, hospitality, and guest-interaction areas.

The Job

• Manages the Hourly Team Members and interacts with Guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Skilled at handling Guest concerns and guiding them toward a positive resolution.
• Adept at cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
• Presents self as a leader among the Team Members and one that motivates others to follow procedures, work with a sense of urgency, and ensure a positive Guest experience.
• Skilled at de-escalating issues between Team Members, making everyone feel heard.
• Supports Management with the inventory process.
• Always keeps food safety a high priority during the shift by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and in order.
• Manages the daily prep list and signs off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to our specifications and flavor profiles.
• It is a role model when it comes to maintaining an environment that is safe for our Team Members & Guests by enforcing the use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing any obstacles that may prevent a work or dining space.
• Communicates and delivers a friendly, welcoming, exceptional guest experience.
