Job summary

Velvet Taco is seeking an energetic team member to manage hourly staff and engage guests with a friendly, professional demeanor. You will oversee opening, mid, and closing duties, handle cash, and keep the dining area safe and clean.

This role requires strong communication and a passion for delivering a standout guest experience. The position offers benefits for full-time and part-time team members, a laid-back uniform, and a culture that celebrates individuality.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced hospitality environments preferred.
• Ability to handle guest concerns professionally.
• Capable of working across culinary and guest areas.

Responsibilities

• Manage hourly team members and interact with guests professionally.
• Execute opening, mid, and closing duties per procedures.
• Handle guest concerns and guide to positive resolutions.
• Perform cash handling, set up POS drawers, and manage deposits.
• Lead by example to motivate team to follow procedures and maintain guest satisfaction.
• De-escalate conflicts between team members and ensure everyone is heard.
• Assist management with inventory processes.
• Prioritize food safety with line checks, shelf storage, and expediting prep items.
• Maintain safe, clean work and dining spaces by enforcing gloves and removing hazards.
• Communicate and deliver a friendly, welcoming guest experience.
• Be eager to learn, accept feedback, and take accountability.

The Job

• Manages the Hourly Team Members and interacts with Guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Skilled at handling Guest concerns and guiding them toward a positive resolution.
• Adept at cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
• Presents self as a leader among the Team Members and one that motivates others to follow procedures, work with a sense of urgency, and ensure a positive Guest experience
• Skilled at de-escalating issues between Team Members, making everyone feel heard.
• Supports Management with the inventory process.
• Always keeps food safety a high priority during the shift by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and in order.
• Manages the daily prep list and signs off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to our specifications and flavor profiles.
• It is a role model when it comes to maintaining an environment that is safe for our Team Members & Guests by enforcing the use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing any obstacles that may prevent a work or dining space.
• Communicates and delivers a friendly, welcoming, exceptional guest experience.
• Embraces feedback, is eager to learn, and takes accountability for their actions.
