Job summary

Velvet Taco is hiring in Rockwall, Texas. The role focuses on leading hourly team members and engaging guests with a friendly, professional demeanor, while ensuring safety and smooth operations.

You will perform opening/closing duties, manage cash and POS tasks, handle guest concerns, and support inventory and prep processes to uphold our flavor standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead hourly team members and interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Proficiency in cash-handling, opening/closing duties, and POS operations.
• Strong focus on food safety, line checks, and inventory support.

Responsibilities

• Manage the hourly team and guest interactions with a positive, professional approach.
• Execute opening, mid, and closing duties per procedures and recipes.
• Handle guest concerns and guide toward timely resolutions.
• Perform cash handling, set up POS drawers, process comps/voids, and manage deposits.
• Lead by example to motivate adherence to procedures and deliver a great guest experience.
• De-escalate conflicts between team members and communicate effectively.
• Support management with inventory processes and accuracy.
• Maintain high food-safety standards and keep the restaurant clean and organized.
• Manage daily prep list and approve prep items per specifications.
• Enforce safe workspace practices, including gloves, clean floors, and hazard removal.
• Deliver a friendly, welcoming guest experience and openness to feedback.
• Adapt to fast-paced environments and manage time efficiently.
• Work across all restaurant areas relating to culinary, hospitality, and guest interaction.

The Job

• Manages the Hourly Team Members and interacts with Guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Skilled at handling Guest concerns and guiding them toward a positive resolution.
• Adept at cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
• Presents self as a leader among the Team Members and one that motivates others to follow procedures, work with a sense of urgency, and ensure a positive Guest experience.
• Skilled at de-escalating issues between Team Members, making everyone feel heard.
• Supports Management with the inventory process.
• Always keeps food safety a high priority during the shift by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and in order.
• Manages the daily prep list and signs off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to our specifications and flavor profiles.
• It is a role model when it comes to maintaining an environment that is safe for our Team Members & Guests by enforcing the use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing any obstacles that may prevent a work or dining space.
• Communicates and delivers a friendly, welcoming, exceptional guest experience.
• Embraces feedback, is eager to learn, and takes accountability for their actions.
