Job summary

Banfield is seeking a Shift Lead to provide leadership and paraprofessional support across shifts. The role balances 20% leadership duties with 80% paraprofessional tasks, partnering with the Practice Manager and COS to maintain high-quality care and client service.

You will guide paraprofessional staff, ensure communication with clients and hospital leadership, and help optimize productivity and profitability while upholding all protocols and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Leadership and paraprofessional coordination experience or ability to guide a team.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and solve problems on shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of a CSC and/or veterinary assistant/technician.
• Provide leadership on shifts 20% of the time and paraprofessional duties 80% on average.
• Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive hospital team.
• Ensure effective communication with clients, associates, leadership, and central teams.
• Mentor and train paraprofessional associates; quality check medical records and documentation.
• Prepare and triage cases for the day, coordinate transfers, and remove bottlenecks in medical operations.
