Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead capacity in the absence of management. You’ll assist with plan-o-grams, maintain displays, and provide exemplary customer service to maximize profitability and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves, ensuring plan-o-gram accuracy and displays.
• Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise; operate cash register and bag items.
• Process payments, give change, and handle refunds following procedures.
• Keep front end clean, stocked, and organized; support loss prevention and cash controls.
• Open/close duties and perform store tasks under supervision in absence of managers.
• Maintain cashier accountability, key control, and security practices.
• Monitor cash levels and drawer pulls; assist in sidewalk displays and negative space.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
