Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager. You will help set and maintain plan-o-grams, provide exemplary customer service, and protect assets while maximizing profitability.

Qualifications

• Able to perform basic math operations for transactions and shelf checks.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions is a plus.
• Familiarity with plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Capable of clear verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock returned merchandise and build displays.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and locate merchandise for them.
• Operate cash register and collect payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of front end and stockroom.
• Open/close store per Area Manager directions.
