Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint is seeking a Shift Lead for the Day Shift (7 am – 3 pm) in Salt Lake City, Utah. This full-time role oversees behavior techs, creates weekly schedules, and ensures shift coverage while maintaining a positive workflow aligned with policy.

You will collaborate with the Program Director to support residents and sustain a harmonious environment. Responsibilities include coaching staff, handling daily logs, coordinating with management, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with clients who struggle with mental health.
• Knowledge of domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse issues.
• Experience leading a team is preferred.
• Exhibits a positive and compassionate attitude, sensitivity, and the ability to work well with others in a close residential setting.
• Model positive behavior, appropriate boundaries, and the ability to use sound judgment during times of crisis.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
• Ability to wear multiple hats within a small nonprofit organization.
• Possesses valid Utah State Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Create weekly schedules for the team and ensure proper shift coverage.
• Fill gaps caused by call-outs by staff and shift leads.
• Maintain a positive workflow that aligns with policies and supports residents.
• Communicate with the Program Director to keep teams aligned.
• Coordinate with staff to fulfill duties and maintain a harmonious environment.
• Perform basic facility tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and supply monitoring.
• Log daily occurrences and monitor resident notes and needs.
• Reconcile petty cash and monitor expenditures daily.
• Take ownership of shift duties and coach team members.
• Cover gaps and assist with shift coverage when needed.
