Job summary

Madison Reed is seeking a Shift Lead, Licensed Cosmetologist, to manage operations, guest experience, and team performance at the Hair Color Bar. You will lead by example in service and sales, coordinate with the manager, and step in as the manager-on-duty when required.

The role requires a cosmetology license, leadership experience, and weekend availability. Compensation includes base hourly pay, commissions, and tips, with potential earnings in the range of $45.50–$47.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state applying.
• 1+ year of experience as a colorist behind the chair in a salon.
• 1+ year of leadership experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Effective communication and problem-solving in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Fluency in English.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop leadership to deliver top-tier guest experience aligned with company values.
• Lead by example in sales and service behaviors with guests and resolve issues.
• Support front of house and back of house operations and retail orders.
• Provide consultations and all services on the menu including chemical services.
• Step in as manager-on-duty to foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
• Contribute to monthly sales goals and key performance indicators such as retail, services, and memberships.
• Ensure standards for merchandising, inventory, and asset security are met.
• Master Madison Reed systems, policies, and procedures across the bar.
• Coach and develop team members to maximize guest satisfaction and bar performance.
• Grow within Madison Reed by ongoing training and staying updated on MR products.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and training as needed.
