Job summary

Torchy’s Tacos in Houston, TX is seeking a Shift Leader to guide shifts, supervise team members, and ensure operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and food safety standards are met.

You will open and close as a key holder, delegate tasks, train teammates, and handle cash and daily safety checklists, while upholding Torchy’s values and delivering Damn Good experiences for guests and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a restaurant or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety, guest service, and restaurant operations.
• Required state alcohol-server and Manager ServSafe certifications.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds and to stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
• Open and close the restaurant as a key holder, including setting up and securing the facility.
• Delegate tasks to team members to keep the restaurant running smoothly during shifts.
• Interact with guests to ensure needs are met and address concerns with urgency and care.
• Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring team members to meet performance standards.
• Maintain knowledge of FOH and BOH processes, including recipe adherence, food safety, and cleanliness.
• Support inventory management, prep levels, and line checks to uphold food quality.
• Supervise cash handling during opening and closing activities following company policies.
• Complete and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory checklists.
• Resolve guest or team member issues professionally and escalate when necessary.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
