Job summary

Salt & Straw is hiring Shift Coordinators in a fast-paced hospitality setting in Oakland. You will support daily shop operations, coach team members during shifts, and create exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities include guiding scooping teams, managing tasks and breaks, handling the register, and upholding food safety and quality standards while delivering outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays availability
• 6+ months in food service, restaurant, retail or hospitality
• High school diploma or GED required
• Enjoy coaching, motivating and supporting others

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shop operations to ensure a smooth guest experience
• Guide team members, assign tasks, manage breaks and provide support
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve guest concerns
• Assist with scooping, hosting, operating the register, cleaning and other duties
• Open/close shifts and maintain shop standards
• Coach team members with real-time feedback and training
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and workplace safety standards
• Support inventory counts, supply management, and cash handling
• Ensure third-party delivery orders are accurate and meet quality standards
• Foster an inclusive, positive work environment
• Share flavor stories to engage guests and upsell favorites
• Partner with shop leadership to uphold operational standards
