Job summary

Torchy’s Tacos is seeking a Shift Leader to ensure every shift runs smoothly and guests have a Damn Good experience. You’ll balance hands-on leadership with mentoring the team across FOH and BOH, manage opening and closing, and uphold food safety and quality standards.

You’ll lead with Torchy’s values in a fast-paced environment, delegate tasks, support inventory, cash handling, and safety checklists, driving operational excellence and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a restaurant or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety, guest service, and restaurant operations.
• Required state alcohol-server and Manager ServSafe certifications.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds and to stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing team dynamics, and ensuring operational excellence.
• Open and close the restaurant as a key holder, including setup and securing the facility.
• Identify, prioritize, and delegate tasks to team members to maintain smooth operations.
• Engage with guests to address needs and concerns with urgency and care.
• Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring team members to meet performance standards.
• Maintain knowledge of FOH and BOH processes including recipe adherence, food safety, and cleanliness.
• Support inventory management, proper prep levels, and line checks to uphold quality.
• Supervise cash management and ensure accuracy during opening/closing activities.
• Complete and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory checklists.
• Resolve issues with guests or staff professionally and escalate when needed.
• Perform other duties or projects to meet evolving business needs.
