NC State Dining within North Carolina State University seeks a Shift Lead to oversee daily operations in a high-volume dining location in Raleigh, NC. The role provides leadership to temporary and student staff, ensures quality and safety, and supports training while maintaining brand standards.

The position requires experience in food service leadership, standards compliance, and the ability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
• Some positions may require certification by the Department of Correction.
• Proficient in the use of computers and ability to learn new software programs.
• Allergen training.
• ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shift operations in a fast-paced food service environment, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to recipes and food preparation standards.
• Support and guide team members while maintaining excellent customer service and fostering positive communication with staff and guests.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures, including the safe operation of kitchen equipment.
• Follow and communicate written and verbal instructions, assist with training, and help the team achieve performance and operational goals.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds regularly, working in hot and cold environments, and handling kitchen equipment safely.
