Job summary

Peet’s Coffee is seeking a Shift Lead to guide daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment in Palo Alto. You will manage shift tasks, model great customer service, and uphold quality coffee standards while keeping the storefront welcoming and organized.

The role requires at least 1 year of leadership and POS/cash handling experience, flexibility to work at least three days per week, and legal eligibility to work in the United States. Peet’s is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a leadership role.
• 1 year experience with POS/cash handling responsibilities.
• Shift Leads must be available a minimum of three days a week to meet business needs.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be able to comply with employment of minors policies and work with minors.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• May perform various physical tasks during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with focus and clarity by managing task deployment and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences by modeling genuine engagement, high product quality, and friendly service while keeping a clean, welcoming coffeebar.
• Support a positive team environment by communicating clearly, collaborating effectively, and setting an example through accountability and professionalism.
• Ensure operational excellence by executing opening/closing routines, cash handling, inventory tasks, and visual updates during shifts.
• Embrace learning and change by developing skills, adapting to priorities, and using judgment to keep shifts running smoothly.
