Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a hands-on Shift Leader to guide operations on each shift and elevate guest service. You will work side-by-side with the team, stepping in for management when needed, and model the standards that define the Five Guys dining experience.

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years in foodservice or related fields, a team-first mindset, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while leading by example. Growth opportunities exist in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
• Leads by doing, not just directing.
• Maintains composure and makes quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and run operations when management isn't on site.
• Work across cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room roles.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and ensure a great guest experience.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and foster a positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
