Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a proactive Shift Leader in Timonium, MD. You’ll lead by example, step into every role, and ensure excellent guest experiences on busy shifts. This hands-on leadership role offers growth opportunities and a path to higher management within a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

You will mentor crew, maintain brand standards, and train new hires while ensuring safety and efficiency on every shift. Competitive hourly pay plus tips and bonuses are part of the compensation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• A team-first mindset with strong communication skills.
• Leads by doing, not just directing.
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Jump into cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room roles as needed.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
