Job summary

Newk’s Eatery is seeking an energetic Shift Leader to guide daily restaurant operations, coach team members, and ensure a premier guest experience. You’ll support the General Manager, run opening/closing duties, and uphold food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate brings at least 1 year in food service, strong leadership, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in restaurant/food service is required.
  • Willingness to obtain ServSafe Manager Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
  • Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the team during each shift.
  • Ensure excellent guest service and resolve guest concerns professionally.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members.
  • Assign and monitor opening, mid-shift, and closing duties.
  • Maintain food quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
  • Monitor labor, food costs, and minimize waste.
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and cash handling.
  • Conduct daily shift huddles and communicate goals clearly.
  • Support all restaurant positions as business needs require.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and team‑focused work environment.

Newk’s Eatery is looking for energetic, dependable, and motivated Shift Leaders to help lead our team and deliver the outstanding food and hospitality our guests expect. What You’ll Do

As a Shift Leader, you’ll be responsible for leading daily restaurant operations while supporting the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. You’ll coach team members, ensure operational excellence, and create an exceptional experience for every guest.

  • Must be 21 years+

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift
  • Lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds
  • Bend, reach, stoop, and work in varying temperatures
  • Work safely around common food allergens
