Job summary

Frozen Food Express is seeking a Shift Operations Manager for the Lemont location. You will oversee dock operations, supervise dockworkers and yard staff, and train new personnel to ensure on-time, safe freight handling and cost efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills, with experience in transportation/dock operations and a track record of managing teams in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3+ year of LTL Transportation/Dock Experience.
• 5+ years of Management/Supervisor Experience.
• AS400 experience is preferred, but not required.
• Strong Customer Service Skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations for the assigned shift to meet productivity and ensure safe, efficient handling of freight.
• Supervise dockworkers and yard staff, enforce policy, and conduct performance reviews.
• Train new Dockworkers and Yard Hostlers.
• Plan staffing for shifts based on workload and arrival times.
• Inspect and manage all material handling equipment.
