Job summary

Switchpoint Inc. in St. George, UT is seeking a Shelter Shift Lead to oversee daily shelter operations on swing shift (4:00 pm – 12:00 am).

This full-time position focuses on client screenings, intakes, admissions, documentation, and volunteer supervision, while maintaining a safe, respectful environment for residents. You will collaborate with the Site Director and staff to ensure policy adherence, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and timely reporting, with a mission to support homeless

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Human Services or a similar field.
• Experience with shelter environments preferred.
• Knowledge of domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse issues.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Docs.
• Commitment to serving homeless families and to Switchpoint's mission.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shelter operations during shift.
• Conduct client intakes and screenings.
• Supervise volunteers and ensure meal support.
• Maintain documentation, logs, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Site Director and staff for service quality.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Ensure safety and adherence to policies.
• Manage staffing and scheduling for shifts (minimum staff).
