Job summary

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada is seeking a Manager of Emergency Shelter Operations (Swing Shift) in Las Vegas. The role directs daily shelter operations, schedules staff, handles crises, and ensures a trauma-informed, client-centered service model.

You’ll oversee bed assignments, referrals, and program procedures to maintain dignity and safety for all guests. Collaborating across supervisors and shelter staff, you’ll monitor program efficiency, enforce policies, and document incidents.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience in social/human services.
• 1–2 years of experience in shelter operations or related field.
• Two years of management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage swing/grave shift daily operations including scheduling and crisis management.
• Oversee bed assignments, clothing, toiletries, and referrals for guests.
• Lead staff and monitor daily operations, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure safety and security, and address safety concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with case management for proper shelter enrollment.
• Explain program procedures to guests and provide resource information.
• Maintain accurate records, statistics, and payroll-related documents.
• Build relationships with staff, departments, and programs for cohesive service delivery.
• Develop procedures to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Document incidents and implement changes in unsafe situations.
