Job summary

Westhab Inc. is seeking a Safety Security Officer to safeguard clients, staff and property at a homeless shelter across NYC. The role requires face-to-face relief, mandated overtime, and 24-hour operations with reporting to the Shift Supervisor and Security Manager.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, a NYS Security Guard License, an 8-Hour Annual Certificate, and CPI certification is preferred. Flexible shifts, including weekends, are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior security experience is required.
• Must have NYS Security Guard License and current 8-Hour Annual Certificate.
• Fire Guard License for Shelters is preferred (F02).
• CPI certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily security duties and rounds to ensure safety.
• Escort clients and monitor behavior while providing courteous service.
• Control access at entrances and screen visitors with screening equipment.
• Complete incident reports, documentation, and coordinate with emergency responders.
