Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior security experience required.
• NYS Security Guard License and 8-Hour Annual Certificate.
• Fire Guard License for Shelters preferred F02.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of all clients’ rooms.
• Escort clients to appointments as needed.
• Interact with and monitor clients' behavior; provide customer service and enforce policies.
• Control access at the main entrance by screening clients and visitors.
• Perform Crisis Intervention to de-escalate crises and document interventions.
• Make hourly rounds throughout the facility and report incidents.
• Respond to incidents and assist with client intakes.
• Complete logs and incident reports; coordinate with first responders as needed.
• Operate security desk duties and monitor CCTV and alarms.
