Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• NYS Security Guard License and 8-Hour Annual Certificate required.
• Fire Guard License for Shelters preferred (F02).
• Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including overnights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of all clients’ rooms.
• Escort clients to appointments as needed.
• Monitor clients' behavior and provide customer service.
• Screen entry at main entrance to prevent weapons.
• Conduct crisis interventions and document incidents.
• Make hourly rounds throughout the facility and respond to incidents.
• Interact with clients and assist with intakes and property handling.
• Maintain logs and coordinate with police or first responders as needed.
• Operate security systems and alarms; participate in fire procedures.
