Job summary

Westhab Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Safety Security Officer to safeguard clients, staff and shelter property in a 24-hour facility. This full-time relief role requires face-to-face coverage and mandated overtime, with all shifts including nights and weekends.

The position pays $19.65 per hour. Candidates must hold a NYS Security Guard License and an 8-Hour Annual Certificate; a Fire Guard License for Shelters (F02) is preferred. CPI certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; security experience preferred.
• Must have NYS Security Guard License and 8-Hour Annual Certificate.
• Fire Guard License for Shelters preferred (F02).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of clients' rooms and escort to appointments.
• Monitor client behavior and enforce facility policies with courtesy.
• Control access at entrances using magnetometer or x-ray devices.
• Respond to incidents and document with logs and reports.
• Provide administrative duties at the operations desk and monitor CCTV.
