Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Lead Monitor II to arrange, coordinate, supervise, mentor, and oversee security and safety for program clients, visitors and staff in shelter settings hosting over 100 clients.

The role emphasizes training Monitors, enforcing program rules, and ensuring secure premises; driving tasks are included if licensed. VOALA operates as a non-profit serving vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

• One year of college coursework or completion of C4C or safety training substitutes for experience.
• CA driver license and clean driving record preferred.
• Experience in group residential settings or homelessness services preferred.
• Ability to pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• On-site work and supervision responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise Monitors around the clock.
• Train Monitors in safety and security procedures.
• Monitor shelter entrance, screen bags and persons.
• Conduct room checks and maintain client compliance records.
• Perform driving tasks if licensed and maintain vehicle logs.
• Act as a role model for participants.
