Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Lead Monitor I to coordinate and supervise the Monitors, ensuring security of the shelter and safety of clients, visitors and staff. You will provide safety training and ongoing oversight, and you may perform driving tasks for licensed Monitors.

This on-site role requires leadership, shift planning, incident reporting, and commitment to VOALA’s mission to help vulnerable communities.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background check required.
• One year of security, social services, or customer service experience.
• California driver’s license preferred; clean driving record recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assign shifts and supervise Monitors.
• Train Monitors in safety and security procedures.
• Oversee safety practices and incident reporting.
• Monitor shelter entrance and screen bags and persons entering shelter.
• Maintain records and logs of daily activities and incidents.
• Provide client/participant support, including driving tasks if licensed.
