Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Lead Monitor I to organize and oversee security staff, ensure program safety, and provide ongoing training. This on-site role emphasizes proactive safety leadership and frontline protective duties for clients, visitors, and employees.

The Lead Monitor I will supervise shifts, perform security checks, and coordinate with clinical staff as needed. Driving responsibilities and a strong commitment to safeguarding shelter operations are essential.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance/background check required.
• One year of security/human services experience preferred.
• California driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign shifts and oversee Monitors’ schedules.
• Train Monitors in operations, safety and security.
• Monitor shelter safety and security, report incidents and violations.
• Conduct bag and person screening and shelter entrance control.
• Assist clients/participants and support shelter operations as needed.
